Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we get every day. Can't find yours? Call 1300 235 972 — real people, 7 days.

How much does a shipping container cost?

As a guide: used 20ft containers from $2,600, new from $4,400, with delivery quoted on top based on your location. Full ranges in our price guide — or call for today's exact number.

What's the difference between new and used containers?

"New" means single-trip — one cargo voyage to Australia, effectively new condition. Used cargo-worthy units have done shipping service, carry dents and surface rust, but are inspected and guaranteed wind and watertight — and cost 30–40% less. Full comparison here.

How long does delivery take?

South-east Queensland: typically 2–5 business days. Regional QLD and interstate: usually 5–10 business days depending on distance and stock location. We confirm a delivery window with your quote — and stand behind it.

What do I need to prepare for delivery?

Firm, roughly level ground and clear access — about 3.5m width and 4.5m height along the route. Sleepers or blocks under the corners is the ideal setup. Full checklist on our delivery page.

Do I need council approval?

For temporary storage, usually not; for permanent placement on residential land, often yes — it varies by council. Our council approval guide shows you how to check your council in ten minutes.

Are containers waterproof?

Yes — every container we sell or hire is guaranteed wind and watertight. Shipping containers are built to keep cargo dry across oceans; a quality-checked unit keeps your gear dry in any Australian weather.

Can I put a container on sloped ground?

Minor slope is fine with packing under the corners — the container needs support at its four corner castings. Significant slopes need a cut pad or piers. Send us a photo and we'll tell you what you're in for.

Do you buy containers back?

We do — condition-dependent. Containers hold value well, which is one of the quiet advantages of buying over hiring for long-term needs.

Can I hire with an option to buy?

Yes. Decide to keep your hire container early in the term and we'll credit a portion of recent hire payments toward the purchase price.

How do I know I'm not being scammed by a container seller?

Fair question — fake container sellers are a real problem. Check the ABN, demand photos of the actual unit with the serial number visible, and be suspicious of prices way under market. Our scam-avoidance guide has the full checklist.
